The Eagles competed in Cornerstone University's annual Battle in the Mitten tournament on Saturday. Grand Rapids Christian played some of their best volleyball of the season in finishing group play with a record of 3-2 in a very strong pool; narrowly missing out on a spot in the Gold Bracket. They earned a bye in the first round of the Silver Bracket, but ultimately lost a very close match to Forest Hills Eastern in the quarterfinal round. Senior outside hitter George Boville was a force all tournament long, finishing with 28 kills and just 4 errors (hitting efficiency: 0.522), while adding 7 service aces.
