Drew Bierlein, Forward #4
Parents: Paul and Evelyn Bierlein

Bierlein has been playing hockey for 14 years. His favorite hockey memory is beating CC in the playoffs last year. His funniest memory was hiking in Colorado when he and the fellas spotted “Travis big pot” in the mountains. Bierlein’s favorite hockey drill is “Screw the D,” and his most dreaded drill is when Zimmy says, “Everyone on the line.” His pregame ritual is doing yoga and prayer with the Yoga Core 4. His advice to younger players is not to take your years on the team for granted because one day you’ll wish you had just one more. Drew plans to study exercise science and business in college. 

Dane Fitzgibbon, Forward #23
Parents: Fitz and Heidi Fitzgibbon

Fitzgibbon has been playing hockey for 14 years. His favorite hockey memory is showering with the boys. His funniest memory was during Winterim in Miami when Brayden didn’t know how to load a dishwasher and stacked cups on top of each other to save space. Fitzgibbon’s favorite hockey drill is Trackback, and his most dreaded drill is Iron Cross. His pregame ritual is circling up and doing yoga with Bierlein, Behen, and Shrip before every game. His advice to younger players is to appreciate the time you have with the boys — it’s a lot shorter than you think, so enjoy it and make memories. Dane plans to study agribusiness and play football at Dordt University in Iowa. 

Caden Hoving, Defense #17
Parents: Tim and Elizabeth Hoving

Hoving has been playing hockey for 10 years; however, this is his first year playing high school hockey. His favorite hockey memory is traveling to Traverse City with the team during Thanksgiving. His funniest memory is the overnight in the locker room. Hoving’s favorite hockey drill is 5-on-5 Inside Zone, and his most dreaded drill is the 3 Step. His pregame ritual is to pray and go for a jog. Caden plans to study pre-law, history, and economics at the University of Michigan this fall. 

Constantine Kim, Defense #13
Parents: Juno and Anne Kim

Kim has been playing hockey for 8 years. His favorite hockey memory is beating CC in the playoffs last year. His funniest memory was when the van got a flat tire in Florida and the team was stuck on the side of the road. Kim’s favorite hockey drill is 2v2 Below the Goal Line, and his most dreaded drill is Iron Cross. His pregame ritual is eating a sweet potato. His advice to younger players is to focus, work hard, and have fun. Constantine plans to attend the University of Michigan next year. 

Jonah Mulder, Forward #2
Parents: Brian and Rachel Mulder

Mulder has been playing hockey for 12 years. His favorite hockey memory is the bus ride home after beating Mona Shores 4–0. His funniest memory is Constantine crashing out on Jacob. Mulder’s favorite hockey drill is 4-on-3, and his most dreaded drill is Iron Cross. His pregame ritual is doing the same stretches and praying before every game. His advice to younger players is to work hard even when you aren’t seeing results — keep going. Jonah plans to study electrical engineering in college. Jonah’s parents are Brian and Rachel Mulder.

 

Chase Mulvey, Forward #5
Parents: Steve and Shannon Mulvey

Mulvey has been playing hockey for 14 years. His favorite hockey memory is the overtime win over Reeths-Puffer. His funniest memory is playing football on the ice during the team bonding overnight. Mulvey’s favorite hockey drill is the Stretch Pass Drill, and his most dreaded drill is the Michigan Mile. His pregame ritual is taping his stick and waxing it if needed. His advice to younger players is to work as hard as you can and never give up. Chase plans to attend Grand Rapids Community College for his 13th year of middle college. Chase’s parents are Steve and Shannan Mulvey.

Sasha Neykov, Goalie #33
Host Parents: Fitz and Heidi Fitzgibbon

Neykov has been playing hockey for one year. His favorite hockey memory is beating Big Rapids. His funniest memory is when the team almost forgot Jonah at the rink. Neykov’s favorite hockey drill is Slovaks, and his most dreaded drill is the Hershey. His pregame ritual is buying a lottery ticket. His advice to younger players is to be more confident on the ice. Sasha plans to attend college in the United States. Sasha’s parents are Sergei Neykov and Olena Neykova, and his GRC host family is the Fitzgibbons.

Drew Shripka, Defense #10
Parents: Andy and Melissa Shripka

Shripka has been playing hockey for 11 years. His favorite hockey memory is beating CC in the playoffs last year. His funniest memory is karaoke during his sophomore year. Shripka’s favorite hockey drill is 5-on-5 Inside Zone, and his most dreaded drill is Spitting Llama. His pregame ritual is doing yoga with a few teammates during off-ice warmups. His advice to younger players is to keep working hard because you will see it pay off. Drew plans to study engineering at a Big Ten university. Drew’s parents are Andy and Melissa Shripka.
