#2 Miriam Kuperus
Parents: Laura and Casey Kuperus. 

Miriam’s favorite memories are the bus rides with her teammates blasting music and getting food with them after games. She wants to thank her dad for being a part of the program with her for the past 4 years as the JV coach, her mom for always showing up and supporting her at her games no matter how cold it is, her grandparents for attending so many of her games and lastly, she wants to thank her teammates that she has been able to play lacrosse with for so many years. Next year she will attend Belmont University to study Nursing. Her favorite Bible verse is Romans 15:13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

#3 Lila Jabara
Parents: Michael and Lisa Jabara. 

Lila will be attending the University of Mississippi this fall, where she is committed to riding on the equestrian team. She plans to pursue a pre-nursing track with the goal of becoming a nurse in the United States Air Force. Lila would like to thank her parents for always being there and showing up to every game, and her teammates for lifting her up at practice every day. One of Lila’s favorite memories from this past year has been the time spent with her team, building strong connections and creating moments she will carry with her long after this season. A verse that has guided her is Ephesians 4:32, reminding her to lead with kindness, compassion, and forgiveness in all that she does. “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you" 

#5 Chloe Pegman
Parents: Shane and Nate Pegman.

Chloe’s favorite lacrosse memories are making new friendships over the years and getting to spend bus rides and tournament days with her team. She would like to thank her parents for always finding the time to come to her games and encouraging her to play lacrosse back in middle school. Chloe plans on attending Grand Valley State University next year and is majoring in Psychology. Her favorite Bible verse is Matthew 6:25, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?” 

#6 Jordyn VanderZwaag
Parents Steve and Elisabeth Vanderzwaag. 

Jordyn’s favorite memory from this season is getting McDonald’s with Ashley after practice. She would like to thank her parents for supporting her, making time to see her play, and always cheering her on. She would also like to thank her grandparents for always supporting her and sitting in the cold to watch her. Next year she will attend Muskegon Community College and studying health sciences. Her favorite bible verse is Probvers 3:5, “Trust in the lord with all your heart and don’t lean on your own understanding.”

#7 Ashley Overway 
Parents: Marc and Jana Overway. 

Her favorite memory from this year is driving to and from practice with her friends while singing in the car. She would like to thank her parents for supporting her, learning the sport alongside her, and showing up to every game—no matter the distance or the weather. She also wants to thank her grandparents for always supporting her and reminding her how well she did after each game, as well as her teammates for always being encouraging. Next year, Ashley plans to serve as a firefighter at the Blendon Township Fire Department. Her favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 43:2, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you”

#8 Katelyn Raak
Parents: Dan and Heather Raak. 

Katelyn's favorite lacrosse memory is driving to practices and games with Ashley, Brooklyn, and Jordyn. She wants to thank her parents and grandparents for coming to GRCHS for the games, and sitting out in the rain and cold. Thank you to her friends, teammates, and coaches that encourage her and keep her accountable. Katelyn is in the dental program at tech center and plans to pursue a career as a dental assistant. Her favorite Bible verse is Galatians 1:10, “For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.”

#11 Glory Afolabi
Parents: Ola and Esther Afolabi

Glory’s favorite lacrosse memory is having meaningful, emotional conversations with her teammates and coach. She would like to thank her parents for their constant support, her JV coaches for encouraging her to try new things like playing goalie, her current coaches for lifting her spirits with words of encouragement, and her teammates for always doing their best and creating an inclusive environment. Next year, she plans to attend Calvin University, where she will major in nursing and minor in ministry leadership. Her favorite Bible verse is Psalm 133:1: “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!”

#16 Lauryn DeBoer
Parents: Mary and Steve DeBoer

Lauryn’s favorite memories from this year are singing songs on the bus ride back from Mona Shores and postgame sonic with Lila. She’d like to thank her parents and coaches for always supporting her and pushing her to be the best version of herself. Next year she will attend hope college and study psychology and human resources. Her favorite bible verse is Phillipians 4:19 which says, “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

#17 Brooklyn VanDyke
Parents: Ryan and Kelly VanDyke. 

Brooklyn’s favorite lacrosse memory is the warm practices and getting ice cream afterward with her friends. She would like to thank all of her friends and teammates for helping her learn a new sport and improve every day, as well as her parents for supporting her and coming to as many games as they can. Next year, Brooklyn plans to attend GRCC to study business. Her favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5–6, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.”

#18 Mikayla Wolters

Mikayla’s favorite memories from lacrosse were making some new pals and making some pretty iconic tiktoks She would like to thank her parents for always supporting her and encouraging her through the highs and lows and a special thank you to my mom for always capturing the moment #CrazyCameraLady. She would also like to thank her grandparents for always supporting her and showing up rain or shine to watch her, as well as her teammates for creating some pretty dandy memories. Next year she will attend Cornerstone University to study special education Her favorite Bible verse is Ecclesiastes 3:1, “There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens.”

#24 Macey VanderWal
Parents: Jason and Lisa VanderWal

Macey's favorite memories from this year are our pre-game jam sesh in the locker room and on our bus rides. She would like to thank her parents for always showing up and being her biggest cheerleader in the stands. As well as always holding her accountable to keep her head high. Next year she will be continuing her education in the Dental field and working as a Dental Assistant. Her favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:6, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

#31 Dyllan Anderson
Parents Rachael and Andy Anderson

Dyllan’s favorite memories from this season is her standout performance in a tough game against Hudsonville, and singing with her teammates on the bus. She would like to thank her parents for supporting her for trying out a new sport, her sister, Rylee for teaching her how to play lacrosse in the backyard and cheering her on every step of the way. She would also like to thank her teammates for being so welcoming and incredibly fun to play with. Next year she will attend Michigan State University and major in Animal Science with a pre-veterinary track. Her favorite Bible verse is John 16:33, "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world"

To our seniors—thank you. Thank you for your leadership, your toughness, and the example you’ve set for this team. You’ve built something that goes beyond wins and losses—you’ve built a culture. You’ve supported each other, pushed each other, and made everyone around you better. That’s your legacy.
