The Eagles got off to a slow start against Grand Rapids Union as both teams were trying to feel each other out. The tempo finally picked up mid way through the first quarter as the Eagles applied full court pressure. The full court pressure allowed the Eagles to get some steals to result in easy transition baskets. After the first quarter the Eagles led 16-5. The Eagles elevated their play in the second quarter and stretched the lead to 27-13. The third quarter was the Eagles best quarter as they finally made a perimeter shot after going the first half with none. The offensive flow started to click and the lead grew to 52-21. The fourth quarter the Eagles took some of the pressure off and ended up beating Grand Rapids Union 65-28.
Tevon Vanderkodde, with a big night led the Eagles with 17 points and 20 rebounds. CJ Jones had 9 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assist and 6 steals. The Eagles are now 11-0 and return to action tomorrow at home against Wayland @4:00.
