The opening quarter was competitive, with both teams working to establish a rhythm. The Eagles would show some rust after being off for a week traveling to Orlando, Florida for some team bonding and community service. The game remained tight a contest, ending the 1st quarter tied at 11–11.

In the 2nd quarter, the Eagles raised their defensive intensity, limiting the Pioneers to just nine points. Offensively, Grand Rapids Christian continued to search for flow but executed well enough to build a 24–20 halftime lead. 

The 3rd quarter remained a defensive battle, as neither team was able to generate consistent offense. Both teams scored eight points in the quarter, allowing the Eagles to maintain a slight advantage at 32–28 heading into the final quarter.

The difference came in the 4th quarter, where the Eagles created scoring opportunities through their pressure defense. East Grand Rapids struggled to handle the defensive intensity, and Grand Rapids Christian capitalized by executing down the stretch scoring eighteen points in the quarter. Defense proved to be the defining factor in securing the win. The Eagles would get the fourth conference win with a 50-39 victory over the Pioneers

With the victory, the Eagles extended their winning streak to five games and improved to 4–0 in conference play. Carl Thompson would make he's return after missing five games to score 15 points. Connor Johnson and Will Ferwerda would both chip in with 8 points apiece. Charlie King would finish with 7 points.
