The Grand Rapids Christian Eagles returned home for a conference showdown against Forest Hills Northern, delivering a performance defined by defensive grit and execution. Setting an aggressive tone from the opening tip, the Eagles’ defensive unit stifled the Huskies' rhythm, fueling a fast start that ended the first quarter with a solid 21–9 lead.
That momentum surged in the 2nd quarter. The Eagles’ relentless pressure forced a string of turnovers, creating high percentage transition opportunities. While the defense held the Huskies to just 8 points in the quarter, the offense continued to execute with precision, pouring in 18 points. By halftime, Grand Rapids Christian had established a commanding 39–17 advantage.
The 3rd quarter tested the Eagles as the Huskies found a spark, generating a run largely by their success at the free-throw line. Despite the Huskies’ push, the Eagles matched them, scoring 14 points of their own to maintain a steady 53–31 lead heading into the final quarter.
The 4th quarter showcased some of the depth of this roster. The bench provided a spark, sustaining the team's intensity and closing out the contest in convincing fashion. It was a true "total team" victory, with a winning effort on both ends of the court.
With the final score of 66–46, the Eagles remain just one game out of first place in the conference title race. The Eagles were led by senior Carl Thompson's 27 points, Connor Johnson would add 13 points, Oliver Strater was an impact player finishing with 9 points, Ajak Gieu would add 7 points and Will Ferwerda had 5 points for the Eagles.
