The Eagles battled until the final possession but ultimately fell to the Catholic Central Cougars, 44–41, in the District Championship game held at Comstock Park High School.

The Eagles got off to a slow offensive start in the opening quarter as Catholic Central established early momentum in the paint. The Cougars controlled the tempo and held a 12–7 advantage at the end of the first quarter.

Grand Rapids Christian responded in the second quarter. Their defensive intensity increased, and led to better offensive possession. The Eagles began to find their rhythm offensively and competed with grit. The first half belonged to the Cougars as both teams battled in a tightly contested game Cougares would go in up 29-25 at the half.

In the 3rd quarter, the Eagles made some adjustments defensively, holding Catholic Central to just seven points during that stretch. The defensive effort allowed Grand Rapids Christian to chip away at the deficit and shift momentum. Entering the 4th quarter, the Cougars held a narrow 29–25 lead, setting up an exciting final quarter.

The Eagles continued to fight and showed tremendous resilience in the 4th quarter. Key defensive stops and timely shot making allowed Grand Rapids Christian to tie the game at 41–41 late in the contest. Ultimately, Catholic Central converted a three point shot in the closing moments, and the Eagles came up just short, 44–41. Braylon Taylor had 10 points, Carl Thompson finished with 9 points and Connor Johnson added 8 points for the Eagles.
