In the crosstown battle Friday night, the Eagles found themselves against a very talented Pioneer team. From the first minute the girls made it evident that it mattered to them. Tallying rebounds, tying up loose balls and finding game changing stops on defense, the Eagles kept their cool and played their game immediately. Pace Rickard came out hot and controlled the tempo on offense, finding teammates in transition and sinking crucial baskets down the stretch. The Eagles went into halftime up 7 knowing that would not be enough to fend off the Pioneers. In a game of runs, the Eagles did not let their opponents second half hot shooting derail their fight. Pace Rickard remained clutch down the stretch finishing with the team high 16. However when adversity struck in the 4th, many other Eagles stepped up. Lydia Sall finished with 12 points, shooting 8 of 9 from the stripe. Sofie Hulst in her typical nature added 12 heroic boards and Hannah Sall ended up being the go ahead basket with 7 seconds left to seal the deal.
