Varsity Eagles take 4th at the Benzie Pete Moss Invitational

The girls cross country team sleepily rolled out of Grand Rapids at 6am for a morning of racing at Benzie Central High School, followed by an afternoon of relaxing in the beautiful town of Frankfort. While it was an early morning at the end of the first week of school, it was a great day of competing, bonding, and fun!
Senior Lilah Poel led the Eagles to a 4th place team finish by placing 10th overall. She was followed by Zoe Hoekstra in 19th (19:32), Lucy Waalkes in 36th (20:30), Joy Van Wyk in 38th (20:34), and Maggie Scholma in 39th (20:35).
The JV Eagles were led by Vivi Duncan (21:41), Alena Sportel (22:10), Cora Boonstra (22:14), Sonia Tatko (22:20), and Willa Peterson (22:20).
Congrats to our freshmen (and new runners) for completing their first high school race!
