Girls Varsity Cross Country Wins the OK White Conference Jamboree #2

The Grand Rapids Christian girls' cross country team continued its dominant conference season, securing a convincing victory at the OK White Jamboree #2, held on their home course at Gainey. Despite an often soggy course from the previous evening’s flooding, the Eagles prevailed with a score of 44 points, well ahead of the second-place team's 68. Lilah Poel moved up nicely during the race to secure her third-place finish. She was followed closely by teammates Ellie Scholma (5th), Zoe Hoekstra (6th), and Annika TerBeek (12th). A second pack of Eagles included Lucy Waalkes (18th), Eva Lindstrom (20th), Maggie Scholma (21st), and Joy Van Wyk (23rd). It was great to see the Eagles work together as many other packs formed during the race.
A special shout-out goes to Alice Peterson, who ran a personal record (PR) on what was a less-than-perfect day for racing!
The Eagles return to racing on Saturday as they travel to the Otsego Bulldog Invitational.
