The Varsity Eagles welcomed the Cougars of Catholic Central on a perfect night for soccer at Eagle Stadium. The visitors would take advantage of the Eagles' defense switching off when they played a short corner that eventually ended up on the foot of an attacker who smashed it home from a tight angle. Despite some quality play and switching the point of attack, the hosts were not able to generate quality scoring chances in the first half.
The second half would feature more possession from the home side, but the Eagles still lacked a cutting edge in the final third. Despite some high quality chances, the Eagles were not able to find the equalizer and had to walk away with a disappointing 1-0 loss.
The Eagles will look to regroup when they travel to Ottawa Hills on Wednesday for a match that kicks off at 5:45.
