The Eagles traveled to East Grand Rapids on Wednesday evening for a conference matchup. The visitors got off to a flying start when Seth Rozema buried a shot from outside the box, with an assist from Will Bush. Liam Jansen would add to the delight when he smashed one home to the far post not long after. Unfortunately, the Eagles would once again struggle to defend set pieces as they couldn't clear a corner kick and the Pioneers volleyed one home from close range to cut the deficit in half. Rozema would step up again, however, with another shot that found the back of the net to restore the two goal advantage. The Pioneers would once again cut the advantage in half when an attacker looped one over the Eagles defense and goalkeeper to make it 3-2 at the half.
The Pioneers would capitalize twice in the second half, with the game winner coming with under five minutes to play, to claim the victory. The Eagles are back in action on Monday when they host Unity Christian at Eagle Stadium at 7:30pm.
