The Eagles welcomed the #1 ranked Saders from Unity Christian to Eagle Stadium on a perfect night for soccer. The first half was a back-and-forth affair with each side creating some half-chances. The second half would feature a similar level of intensity. The deadlocked score would be broken when Unity was awarded a penalty kick after an unlucky Eagle handball in the box. The visitors would make no mistake as they fired themselves ahead. The Eagles, however, responded positively and leveled the match when Liam Jansen smashed home a free kick from just outside the box to level the match at 1-1. In spite of some decent chances late on, neither team could find the winner and both would settle for a tightly-contested 1-1 draw. Josh Dykema and Alex Nelson combined in goal for the home side.
The Eagles are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to the CAT to take on Catholic Central at 6:45pm. Go Eagles!
