The Eagles traveled to Forest Hills Northern to take on the #1 ranked Rangers of Forest Hills Central in the district semifinal on Monday night.   The Eagles created some chances early but it would once again be the Rangers that found the back of the net first when they were awarded a penalty kick for a foul in the box.  The first half would end 1-0 in favor of FHC.   

The Eagles regrouped at halftime and Liam Jansen found the equalizer midway through the second half when he made a spectacular solo run and smashed a perfect shot into the top corner.   The match stayed level until Jansen once again showed his class when he beat two defenders on the endline and was able to squeeze a shot in between the goalkeeper and the post to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead with ten minutes to go.   From there, the Eagles defensive unit took over, staying organized, winning balls, and keeping the Rangers from mounting any dangerous chances.   They defended one last Ranger attack when they cleared a corner kick with under one minute to go.  

The Eagles advance to the district final vs. East Grand Rapids on Wednesday at 6:30pm at Forest Hills Northern.   Go Eagles!
