Girls Varsity Soccer fight to a draw against undefeated Unity Christian HS School

UNITY CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL: 2
The Varsity Eagles soccer team faced an undefeated Unity Christian side at Gainey Athletic Complex on Monday evening. The visitors got on the board first, converting a well placed corner kick onto the head of a Unity attacker, leaving the host Eagles in a 0-1 deficit. The Eagles fought back with Junior Paris Rodgers working her way into the Unity penalty area and poking a shot past the Unity goalkeeper to level the score at 1-1 at the half. The Eagles struck first in the 2nd half on a strong effort from Sophomore Emma VanGoor to take their first lead of match. Midway through the 2nd half, Unity was able to find a way past the Eagles' defenders to level the score 2-2. Both teams battled to the end, but finished with a 2-2 draw.
The Eagles play twice more this week, visiting Holland Christian on Wednesday night (7:15 pm) and traveling to face Forest Hills Central in the first round of the OK White conference tournament on Thursday evening (6:45 pm).
