The Eagles opened their 2026 campaign with a trip to the Sailors of South Christian.    The visitors would start on the front foot, creating a quality chance in the opening minutes.  Later in the half, Charley Hassenrik would open the scoring when she got in behind the Sailor defense and slotted the ball past the keeper to the far post to stake the Eagles to a 1-0 lead.   South Christian would equalize shortly after off a header from a corner kick.  The squads headed to the halftime interval knotted at 1-1.  

The Eagles would create a great chance early in the second half, but couldn't find the back of the net.  From there, it was all Sailors as their depth and team speed created problems for the Eagles.   Despite some incredible saves from freshman Natalie Hutt, the Eagles would concede two goals in the second half as the Sailors claimed victory with a 3-1 result.    Rogue Tholen and Hutt combined in goal on the night. 

The Eagles are back in action for the first home match of the season on Friday when they host the Hawks of Forest Hills Eastern at 7:45pm.
