The Eagles opened their conference schedule on a cold Friday night for soccer when they hosted the Hawks from Forest Hills Eastern.   The home side would strike first when Charley Hassenrik took a Rogue Tholen punt, beat two defenders, and smashed home a shot that gave the Eagles a lead midway through the first half.   Shortly after, Hassenrik would be fouled in the box after beating another Hawk defender.   She would calmly convert from the spot to stake the Eagles to a 2-0 lead.   Hassenrik was not done, however, as she earned another penalty kick just minutes after the first.  She would once again find the net to give the Eagles a commanding 3-0 lead at the halftime interval, while notching a first-half hat trick.  

In the second half, the Eagles were content to sit a bit deeper and absorb pressure from the speedy attack of the Hawks.  Despite some close calls, the Eagles would defend their lead well and coast to a 3-0 win.  Tholen and Natalie Hutt would combine for the clean-sheet in goal, with each being called on to make some big saves.   The defensive unit of Chloe Willis, Vivi Duncan, Lilah Poel, Zuly Lathouwers, and Meghan Leech had a strong night defensively against the dynamic attacking force from FHE.  

The Eagles have one more match before spring break as they travel to conference foe Forest Hills Northern on Tuesday at 6:45pm.
