GRAND RAPIDS CATHOLIC CENTRAL: 0
The Eagles traveled to Catholic Central on a beautiful night for soccer. The Eagles came out sluggishly and took quite some time to settle into the match. Hazel Vance would rescue the Eagles from a poor first half performance when she took a deft touch from Charley Hassenrik and smashed one home off the underside of the crossbar to give the visitors the lead. Lydia Ydenberg would score another goal off a set piece not long after to give the Eagles a 2-0 lead at the half.
The second half would feature much better effort and connected play from the Eagles. In spite of some close calls, the Eagles would not find the back of the net; however, the defensive organization limited any scoring chances from the home side. Natalie Hutt earned yet another clean sheet in goal.
The Eagles have a quick turnaround as they host the Pioneers of East Grand Rapids tonight at 6pm at Eagle Stadium. Go Eagles!
