The Eagles took on the Allendale Falcons in the district final at East Grand Rapids Friday night.   The Eagles would get off to a flying start when Iris Morgan collected a lose ball off a corner kick and calmly volleyed it past the keeper to the far post to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead.  From there, the Eagles would be tested defensively against an athletic Falcon team.   In spite of some quality attacking play from Allendale, the Eagle defense would stand strong and close out the half with the lead.

The Eagles would regroup at halftime and were committed to battling for balls in the second half.   After controlling more of the play, the Eagles were rewarded when Hazel Vance played a perfect ball through the channel to Charley Hassenrik, who made no mistake as she slotted the ball past the keeper to stake the Eagles to a 2-0 lead.  

Allendale would not go quietly however, as they scored a strange goal from a lofted shot that miraculously found the back of the net from distance.   The Eagles were not done either, though, as Vance again came up clutch with another inch-perfect pass to Hassenrik, who displayed her class as she dribbled past a defender, beat the keeper, and finished into the open net to ice the match and give the Eagles a second consecutive district title.  

The Eagles advance to the Regional round of play, where they face Gull Lake at Otsego on Tuesday at 5pm.   Go Eagles!
