The Eagles took 2nd place in the OK-Gold Conference Tournament this past Saturday, and finished 2nd overall in the OK-Gold Conference for the second year in a row ahead of FHE and behind EGR.  The Eagles competed well as a whole; several flights improved scores against division 3 teams FHE, EGR, and Thornapple Kellogg, but several flights took steps backward hurting their postseason Regional and State Final seed status.

The #1 Doubles Team of Junior Grant Moorhead and Sophomore Tanner Warners were Conference Champions, taking out EGR in another thrilling 3 set match.  The duo simply proved too much for EGR, who won the State Title at #1 Doubles a year ago with half of the same team. This team still has a lot to prove.  Following the Conference titles, several flights took 2nd place.  Simon Volkema (#1 Singles), Alex Lowell (#2 Singles), Eli Kuiper (#4 Singles), Devin Meeuwsen/Sam VanSchepen (#2 Doubles), and Owen Greer/Cade Boender (#4 Doubles) all took second place.  Alex Cook (#3 Singles) and Jack Long/Daniel Betten (#3 Singles) took 3rd place.

The team looks to defend its Team Regional Title from last season as it hosts Regionals this Thursday at the Zandee Tennis Center all day long.  Most, if not all, of the flights will be seeded and whether or not the team repreats will depend upon their performance and mental toughness on the day.
