Our GRC Varsity Girls Tennis team took on West Ottawa on their home courts, with resilience defining the match. Several players had to dig deep and stay committed to their game to earn their wins. Henley set the tone by working through a tight opening and then taking control in the second set. Ida showed strong determination, battling back after a difficult start and staying focused until the match was hers. Anwen also stood out with her patience, proving she can handle long rallies and close moments while staying steady throughout. Even in matches that didn’t go their way, players like Avah showed the same resilience, competing hard and taking pride in their effort.

In doubles, that same mindset carried across the lineup. Anna and Anneka played with consistency and intent, staying aggressive and in control of points. Emily and Gwyn responded well under pressure, finding a way to close out a tight second set. Johanna and Adelyn showed a strong shift in momentum, staying composed and working their way back into control after being down 1-5. Londyn and Cam also turned an early deficit into a win by trusting their decisions and staying assertive. Charlotte and Meg battled through a long match, and despite the result, showed they can compete point for point in extended play. Across the board, the focus on staying in points and playing to win made the difference.
