Grand Rapids Christian Volleyball concluded an outstanding season under the lights of Kellogg Arena on Friday, battling #1-ranked Detroit Country Day in a hard-fought State Semifinal.

The Eagles opened the match with confidence and control, taking the first set 25–18. From there, each set became a test of grit and heart, with GRC pushing the top-ranked Yellow Jackets to extra points in nearly every set before ultimately falling 28–30, 23–25, and 24–26.

The road to Kellogg Arena was one of the toughest postseason paths in the state. Entering the playoffs ranked 3rd, the Eagles knocked off a gauntlet of elite opponents: #7 South Christian, #5 Holland Christian, #4 Catholic Central, and #6 Tecumseh, before meeting #1 Country Day in the semifinal. The resilience, focus, and competitive fire shown throughout this run gave light to this team’s identity, as a team with a heart for one another and a competitive spirt for the game. 

Grand Rapids Christian closes the season with immense pride in both their achievements and the memories built over the past four months. The Eagles finish with a remarkable 36–10 record, earning titles at the Hudsonville Invitational, along with Conference, District, and Regional Championships. The team also excelled beyond the court, earning Team Academic All-State honors for their dedication in the classroom.

As another memorable season comes to an end, the program reflects with gratitude, for God’s provision, for the gift of the sport, and for the GRC volleyball family that continues to grow stronger each year. Thank you to our Seniors, fans, families, and community members who supported the Eagles every step of the way.
