In the 6th game of the season the Grand Rapids Christian Football team hosted the Trojans of Thronapple Kellog on Friday evening.

The contest between the Eagles and Trojans started out slowly, with both teams making defensive stops to keep the game scoreless for the better part of the first quarter.  Ultimately, the Eagles offense would break through when Eason Harduin connected with John Holmes for a 49 yard catch and run for the first score of the game.  The touchdown gave the Eagles a 7 to nothing advantage to end the quarter.

The second quarter would see GRC widen the gap with another touchdown pass from Harduin.  This time finding Jordan Dockery for a 30 yard strike, putting the Eagles up 14-0.  After trading a few possessions, the Eagles offense would get the ball with time winding down in the half.  Pressing for another score before intermission, Harduin would again find Dockery for another of his team leading 5 catches on the night.  The long pass would get the Eagles down to the 1 yard line where Thad Gamble would complete the drive with a short rush for the score with 38 seconds left on the clock.  The Eagles would take that 21-0 lead into halftime.

The third quarter would mirror the first, the teams trading possessions with no scoring until late in the period.  Again it would be the GRC offense that would break though, with a 9 play drive going 80 yards, capped off by a  6 yard touchdown run from Harduin.  They would fail to convert the extra point, giving them a 27-0 lead going into the final quarter.

The Christian offense would score again early in the 4th.  Harduin would this time find CJ Jones for his 3rd touchdown pass of the contest.  Following the touchdown, the Eagles would this time convert on a pass from Harduin, throwing back to the kicker Will Heemstra for 2 points.  This would cap the game and give the Eagles a 35 point lead and a running clock for the remainder of the night.  A 35-0 final score and home shutout for the Varsity Football teams 4th win of the season.

Eason Harduin had 252 yards passing with 17 completions on 26 attempts to go along with his 4 total touchdowns to lead the Eagles offensive effort.  Dockery ended the game with 118 of those yards on his 5 catches.  Thad Gamble led the rushing attack with 98 yards on 18 carries.

For the second week in a row, the Eagles had over 12 players record tackles.  Ronin Russell-Dixon led all defenders with 9 total tackles and a pass break up.  Following him was Kyle McKentry with 2 tackles for loss and a fumble recovery to go along with 6 solo & 2 assisted tackles.  Davion Gillen would contribute 2 interceptions, 2 pass breakups and a tackle for loss among his 6 total tackles in the game
