The GRC Varsity football team hosted the South Christian Sailors on senior night in the final home game of the regular season for the Eagles on Friday evening.

The Eagles offense came out strong in the first quarter against the Sailors.  Eason Harduin got the scoring going early, with 2 touchdown passes.  The first to Marcellus Vanderkodde and the second to CJ Jones to give GRC a 13 point lead.  The Sailors would get on the scoreboard with a touchdown of their own, but were quickly countered by the Eagles 3rd touchdown of the night.  This one coming from Thad Gamble with an 11 yard run on one of his game high 31 carries and 185 yards rushing for the night.  The Eagles would take 19-14 lead into halftime after another score from South Christian in the second quarter.

With no score by either team in the 3rd, the Sailors would take a 20-19 lead late into the fourth quarter.  The Eagles offense would get the ball with only a few minutes left remaining in the game and no timeouts to stop the clock.  Harduin connected with Brian Hunter on a 4th down pass to keep the drive going and give GRC a first down inside the Sailor 20 yard line.  A few plays later Harduin found Luke Harrison, who then fought his way into the endzone with 9 seconds left on the clock for the game winning touchdown.

The Eagles coming away with a 27-20 victory, moving to a record of 5-2 on the season.

Offensively, Harduin finished the game with 190 yards passing on 18 completions with 3 touchdowns.  His favorite target for the night being Brian Hunter who had 6 catches for 43 yards.

Defensively the interior line made plays and came up big for the Eagles all evening.  Cole Weeber with 8 total tackles, John Holmes with 6 and Kyle McKentry adding 4.  These three players also accounted for 3 sacks, 5 tackles for loss and a fumble recovery.
