The boys Varsity Football Team traveled to Wayland Union high school on Friday night to take on the Wildcats in the final tilt of the regular season for both teams.

The Eagles would open the scoring early with 3 touchdowns in the first quarter.  CJ Jones on a short run play, Davion Gillen on a punt return score, and Josiah Woltjer on a pass reception from Eason Harduin would build a quick lead for the Eagles.   The Wildcats got on the board late in the first with a long run for a touchdown to temporarily cut into the GRC lead, ending the first Quarter at 21-7.

From that point on, it would be all Eagles.  Grand Rapids Christian would score 6 unanswered touchdowns in what would turn into a route.  Eight different Eagles would get in on the scoring action, capped with a game ending interception in the GRC endzone that would be returned 100 yards for a touchdown by Evan May.  Overall, both sides of the ball were dominant, with the defense limiting the Wildcats to 36 plays on the night for a total of 139 yards and the single score.  

The 61-8 final score gives the Eagles an unblemished 6-0 conference record, and a 7-2 overall record for the season.  For the second year in a row, the boys Varsity Eagles are the OK Gold Conference Champions heading into the playoffs.
