Wrestling Falls 40-41 to Northview in District Final

The Eagle wrestlers fell just short against Northview in the district finals Wednesday night. The wrestlers started out strong and won 5 out of the 7 matches that were wrestled. Josh Kennedy started the Eagles out at the 103 pound weight class with a 23-6 technical fall to give the Eagles an early 5 point lead. After the Eagles forfeited 112, Joey Lukezich (119), Sam Vandenbroek (125) and Tayvarie Heard (130) all pinned their opponent to give the Eagles a 23-6 lead. Dewayne Goree (140) followed an Eagle forfeit at 135 with a convincing 19-2 technical fall to make the score 28-12. An Eagle loss at 145 and 160 along with forfeits at 152, 171 and 189 gave Northview a 41-28 point lead. Northview forfeits at 215 and 285 made the final score 40-41 in favor of Northview.
