Boys Varsity Wrestling vs. Byron Center HS School

After having our scheduled dual with Wyoming cancelled due to weather, the Eagles found a new place to wrestle and traveled to Byron Center to take on a very tough Bulldog team. The Eagles put their best effort forward, but fell short, 6-76.
The 285 pound weight class saw a battle of two state ranked wrestlers. The Eagles Caleb Pugh is currently the third ranked Division 2 wrester and his Bulldog opponent is currently the seventh ranked Division 1 wrester by Michigan Grappler. After a scoreless first period, Caleb took over the match in the top position and won by fall in 3:08.
Jayden Wierenga also battled tough but fell short, losing the the Division 1 8th ranked wrestler 6-16.
The Eagles host 3 team duals this Saturday at the Quest Center. Wrestling begins at 10:00.
