Boys Varsity Wrestling at Grand Haven Invite and East Kentwood JV

The wrestlers split into two groups on Saturday, Competing in both the Grand Haven Adam H Provencal Invitational and the East Kentwood JV Brawl.
The JV wrestlers did outstanding, all of them won at least one match and placed in their weight class. Joe Gofoe led the JV wrestlers with 5 takedowns. Place winners were: Daniel Hinsch (1st), Michael Cool (2nd), Joe Gofoe (3rd), Max Patten (3rd), Matthew Hinsch (4th) and Caleb Bylsma (4th).
The wrestlers at the Grand Haven varsity tournament also did great. Isaac Sung led the team with 10 takedowns. Caleb Pugh's 0:36 pin in his semi-final match was the fastest for the Eagles. Caleb Pugh was 4-0 in the tournament and took home first place honors. Caleb is currently 19-0 and ranked 3rd in DIvision 2 by Michigangrappler.com. Jayden Wierenga went 2-1 on the day and placed 2nd.
The Eagles are home on Wednesday against Forest Hill Central and Kelloggsville. Wrestling starts at 5:30.
