FOREST HILLS CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL: 14
For the first time in over a year, the Eagles took to the football field for a sub-varsity contest. 24 of the 26 players who competed for the Blue & Black had never played in a high school football game! Our young men battled a big and talented Forest Hills Central team, fighting for every inch until the very end. Although the 14-0 outcome is not what we hoped for, the Eagle program took a significant step forward with this game as many young players started to build football experience and the growth in character that comes from navigating difficulty.
Notable performances were turned in by Kellen Dixon running hard at tailback, Jaylin Garcia and James Baker dominating the trenches, TeQuan Culbreath with an interception, Alek Wickstrom with a forced fumble, and wide receiver Jude Klunder with a big-time catch.
The Eagles will be back at it this Thursday at Byron Center!
