The Eagle's lost a hard fought game to East Grand Rapids on Thursday night. The final score was 12 to 26 but the score was close for most of the game. The eagle offense got big plays from Kellen Russell-Dixon, Alek Wickstrom, and Jude Klunder. The offensive line was anchored by Isaiah Luk, who made his first start at center after playing guard all season long. Tem Warners and Ian Campbell also switched positions and played well on the O-Line. Lineman Jaylin Garcia and Henry Jackson also had strong performances on the O-Line. Touchdowns included a 20 yard touchdown pass from Alek Wickstrom to Jude Klunder on the Eagle's opening drive. Kellen Russell-Dixon also had a 95 yard kick off return for a touchdown. The defense also played well with many big stops, including a stop right before halftime and to start the second half. Outside linebackers TeQuan Culbreath and Isaiah Caviness helped set the tone for the defense. Cornerbacks Tayvarie Heard and Tyree Gamble had big pass breakups. Alek Wickstrom had a big takeaway with an interception on the Pioneer's first drive. Noah Funk also recovered a muffed punt to give the ball back to the Eagle offense. Although the Eagles did not come out on top, they fought all the way until the end. The Eagles will end their season next week at home against Greenville.
