The Freshman Boys Basketball team participated in the 2025-2026 Invitational Showcase at Calvin University this past Saturday. This prestigious event provided the Eagles with an opportunity to compete against another OK Red Conference opponent, West Ottawa High School.

The contest began with both teams encountering early foul trouble, resulting in a narrow 13-14 deficit for the Eagles at the close of the first quarter. However, the team successfully adjusted, intensifying their defensive pressure and executing an effective offensive sequence to secure a commanding 32-17 lead heading into halftime.

The Eagles maintained their momentum in the second half, preventing any potential comeback and ultimately dominating the game with a final score of 63-36. All eleven players who dressed contributed valuable minutes to the decisive victory. The team played aggressively on both ends of the court, demonstrating a clear determination to control the pace and secure the win.

The offensive effort was notably balanced:

James Veldheer led the scoring with 14 points.

Isaiah Denton contributed 13 points.

Gideon Cebulski added 11 points.

Additionally, Kingston Williams provided significant energy throughout the game, and Josh Buist proved to be an effective perimeter threat from beyond the three-point line.

The Eagles' record now stands at 4-0 for the season. The team will open conference play on Monday with an away matchup against Forest Hills Eastern. Go Eagles!
