The Eagles suffered a tough loss in their only game of the Cornerstone Holiday Tournament. It was a back and forth affaire against Zeelend East where both teams battled hard on the defensive end making it challenging to get easy baskets. In the final minute, down three, the Eagles turned the Chix over resulting in a lay-up. With 15 seconds remaining, Lydia Sall knocked the ball back out of bounds in the full-court pressure. On the next possession, Jessica Larsen challenged the ball-handler into traveling giving the Eagles one last shot. The team executed perfectly out of a timeout, getting a shot off and fouled with 0.5 seconds remaining. Unfortunately, down one, the Eagles couldn't convert at the free-throw line.
With no games this week, the ladies of Grand Rapids Christian will get back to work preparing for their next game, Tuesday, January 14 at Thornapple Kellogg.
