The JV girls battled past the Forest Hills Central Rangers in an intense, back-and-forth matchup Thursday night, staying unbeaten in conference play. After a slow start, the Eagles came alive in the second quarter, pouring in 17 points to swing the momentum.
Elyssa Haley led the surge with 9 points in the second quarter and finished the night with 13 points, including two clutch free throws in the fourth. Haley also stuffed the stat sheet with 7 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 2 steals. Iris Morgan stayed hot throughout the game, matching Haley with 13 points while adding 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Ellie Breuninger contributed 6 points along with 2 rebounds and 2 steals.
The Eagles’ defense was relentless, led by McKenzy Jones, who pulled down 8 rebounds and recorded an impressive 6 steals. Arok Mawut was also a defensive force, forcing 4 steals of her own.
It was a complete team effort and a well-earned conference win for the Eagles.
