JV girls soccer beats Catholic Central 2-0
The Eagles traveled to the Catholic Athletic Field on Monday night to play the Cougars of Catholic Central. The Eagles earned a well-deserved 2–0 victory over the Cougars in a hard-fought match that showcased hustle and set-piece excellence. Rose Toly scored a pair for the team with beautifully placed goals on free kicks. Both goals were powerful strikes from a distance that left the goalkeeper with no chance.
Beyond the goals, the Eagles defense limited the Cougars scoring chances throughout the evening with a strong backline involving Makayla Wynbeek and Katrina Kuiper. All of the midfielders including Julia Duimstra, Alaina TerBeek and Maddy Baylor worked hard to string together passes and provide long balls for the front line. Brooklyn Clem had many impressive runs down the sideline creating opportunities for the Eagles to score. Next up is a game versus East Grand Rapids on Wednesday.
