EAST GRAND RAPIDS HIGH SCHOOL: 3.00
The Eagles team battled hard but ultimately lost 1-3 in a challenging game against East Grand Rapids. The Eagles started strong, taking the lead early with a top notch goal by Brooklyn Clem that energized the team. The goal came after some excellent ball movement involving Ella Johnson and Elle deJonge. The Pioneers eventually responded leveling the score with a shot that found the back of the net.
Moving into the second half, the match continued to be physical with both teams pushing for control. Despite solid efforts by the all the defensive players including Mackenzie Bishop, Lucy Leo and Afaf Dahbi, the opposing team scored twice more. The Eagles worked hard to create several opportunities to score but were unable to convert. The team wraps up the week by traveling to Holland Christian for a 5:30pm match on Friday.
