Conference play continued with the Eagles going up against known opponents, having played each team previously in conference and non-conference matches. All three matches went to a tie-breaker set and were decided by a mere 2-3 points each. In each match, the Eagles won the opening set but couldn’t close the door in second. The Eagles showed perseverance in the third sets with key runs, but finished short against the offensive pressure of South Christian and Lowell. The team looks forward to those re-matches in the coming week! The win over Covenant Christian was celebrated after a discouraging loss to them last week. 

The Eagles were led in kills by senior outside hitter Irvin "Bear" Burt and in assists by senior setter Connor Geesin. Leading the defense in digs were senior defensive specialist Joe DeVries and senior right side hitter Zach Bierling and in blocks was freshman middle hitter Tommie Anderson.

After three rounds of conference play, the Eagles are 3-5 (6-7 overall), tied for fourth place (out of seven teams) in the competitive Central Division. Next up… the Eagles host round 4 of conference play Friday. Come out and cheer them on!
