The Grand Rapids Christian Boys Varsity Bowling Team dominated this weekend, earning first place in two tournaments and firmly establishing themselves as one of the top teams in the OK White Conference.
Friday – OK White Pre-Conference Tournament
The tournament, held at Park Center Lanes, featured three individual games followed by four Baker games. The Eagles delivered a powerful performance, highlighted by an explosive Game 2 where the entire lineup surged.

All-Conference Team Selections
Ben Sytsma earned 3rd place on the All-Conference Team after a consistently strong day.
Ryan Jonker secured 5th place on the All-Conference Team.
Ryan Lautenbach delivered a big performance to take 7th place on the All-Conference Team.
The Eagles’ depth and high scoring carried them to a 1st place finish in the tournament.
Saturday – East Kentwood Invitational
Returning to Park Center Lanes for the East Kentwood Invitational, the Eagles faced a deep and competitive field. The tournament format included two individual games and six Baker games, and the Eagles wasted no time asserting themselves.
The team held 1st place throughout qualifying, advancing confidently into the semi-finals. In the semis, the Eagles defeated Caledonia, earning their spot in the championship match against Rockford. In a tight final, the boys pulled out the win, completing their second tournament victory of the weekend.
Highlights
Dylan VanderPloeg came up big, contributing a strong 219 game to help secure the team victory.
Ryan Jonker earned a place on the All-Tournament Team with games of 196 and 190 for a 386 series.
A Statement Weekend
Back-to-back championships, multiple All-Conference and All-Tournament selections, and standout individual performances made this a defining weekend for the Boys Varsity Bowling Team.
