Girls Varsity Cross Country vs. Multiple Opponents

Eagles Lose: -
The girls ended the season by finishing 12th at the MHSAA finals Saturday at Michigan International Speedway. Earning all state for the girls was junior Olivia Waalkes. Other eagles running their final race of the season were Seniors Matea Diekema and Delaney Sall, as well as junior Carly Michele, and Freshmen Lily Teitsma and Katelyn LaRue. After a full week of illness, sophomore Madelyn Frens was not able to finish. We are thankful  to God she is on the mend though, and had a great season!

Eagles Lose: -
The Eagles were crowned Regional Champions Saturday in Allendale. The 1-2 finish of Sophomore Madelyn Frens and Junior Olivia Waalkes led the charge for the Eagles. Both Frens and Waalkes earned "all regional" awards along with Junior Carly Michele( 10th) and Freshman Lily Teitsma (12th). Rounding out the Eagles in 16th, 17th, and 18th, were Matea Diekema, Katelyn LaRue, and Delaney Sall. The Eagles compete in the MHSAA state finals next Saturday at Michigan International Speedway.

Eagles Lose: -
The Eagles finished second in the OK Gold finals Tuesday in Middleville and finished second overall in the league. The OK Gold features 3 of the states top 5 ranked cross country teams. Madelyn Frens took first overall, going unbeaten throughout all three Jamborees. Frens, along with Junior Olivia Waalkes, earned first team all conference for the Eagles. Rounding out the top 5 were Senior Matea Diekema, junior Carly Michele, and Senior Delaney Sall. The Eagles head for the regional meet next Saturday, October 26.

Eagles Lose: -
The Eagles finished 10th in the County Meet at Gainey Saturday. Although the conditions were quite muddy in spots, the Eagles still came away with several great times. Top five Eagles were Senior Gabby Rowland, Sophomore Jenna Pegman, Junior Syd Hawkins, Senior Anna Hart, and Freshman Sarah Timmer, who ran a PR. There were also five other first year Eagles who ran PR's. They were Kaitlyn Aupperlee, Allie Groenenboom, Kiersten Scmitt, Anna Triezenberg, and Cici Yutong.

Eagles Lose: -
The Eagles finished 4th in the division 2 race of 46 teams. The race featured 9 of the currently rank top ten teams. Madelyn Frens and Katelyn LaRue both PR'ed in the varsity race. The JV race saw 7 more Eagles set new PR's - Freshmen Natalie Borst, Grace Padilla, Kiersten Schmitt, and Anna Triezenberg, as well as junior Syd Hawkins. The Eagles will host our last home meet of the season Saturday. Races begin at 9:15.

Eagles Lose: -
The Eagles slugged it out in the water and mud Wednesday at South Christian to finish second in the OK Gold Jamboree #2. The meet featured three of division 2's top 5 ranked teams in EGR (1), FHE (3), and the Eagles (5) Freshmen Lily Teitsma and Katelyn LaRue stepped it up big to nail down second place. The Eagles now travel to Portage on Saturday in what amounts to a State Finals preview.

Eagles Lose: -
The Eagles finished third in a meet that featured several ranked teams, and three individual track state champions. Madelyn Frens pulled away over the final mile to win in an impressive 17:57. Sophomore Olivia Waalkes ran a PR of 19:24, and Senior Anna Aupperlee also PR'ed with a 20:19.  In the JV race, the Eagles swept the top three spots and easily won scoring just 27 points. The top three in order were Freshman Lily Teitsma, Junior Chloe Koning, and Senior Emmy Braunohler.

The Eagles finished first in their division at home Saturday, scoring just 68 points, 32 ahead of runner-up Otsego. The hot and humid conditions again caused slower times, with only one Eagle, Anna Aupperlee, running a season's best time. Top runner for the Eagles was Madelyn Frens in first overall, followed by Olivia Waalkes, Matea Diekema, Delaney Sall, and Carly Michele.

Three of the states top ranked teams slugged it out in OK Gold jamboree #1 at South Christian Wednesday afternoon. The Eagles managed to get 2nd place in the heat, losing to EGR but toppling FHE. Madelyn Frens was the top OK Gold runner. Two Eagles were able to still PR on the rather hot afternoon. CiCi Yutong and Anna Treizenberg both ran their fastest times on the year.  The Eagles now host a large meet at the Gainey Saturday.

Eagles Lose: -
The Eagles finished 22nd in the Elite division at Michigan State Friday afternoon. Top runner for the Eagles was Junior Olivia Waalkes. Senior Delaney Sall and Junior Carly Michele followed closely behind. The race took place at Forest Akers East Golf Course under hot and humid conditions. Predictions of storms force the JV races to be cancelled.

Eagles Lose: -
The Eagles traveled to South Christian and won the annual Christian Schools meet with a very good score of 26. The Eagles were able to place all 7 varsity runners in the top 13. The top 7 in order were Madelyn Frens (1), Olivia Waalkes (3), Matea Diekema (4), Lily Teitsma (8), Delaney Sall (10), Carly Michele (11), and Katelyn Larue (13).  The Eagle JV runneres finished 2nd, with Anna Aupperlee winning the race in 21:22.

Eagles Lose: -
The varsity Eagles opened up their season at Benzie where they finished fifth in the large school division. The good news however, is they were the first D2 team. Leading the way for the Eagles was sophomore Madelyn Frens. Madelyn ended second in a new PR time of 17:49. Rounding out the top five scoring Eagles were junior Olivia Waalkes in 23rd with a PR of 19:33, Freshmen Lily Teitsma and Katelyn Larue in 20:27 and 20:27, followed by senior Matea Diekema in 20:28. On the JV side, the Eagles took 3rd. The top 5 runners were Emmy Braunohler, Jenna Pegman, Chloe Westhouse, Aerin Braunohler, and Ava Tatko.
