Boys Varsity Ice Hockey falls to Forest Hills Central High School 0-5

Eagles Lose: 0 - 5
The hockey team Lost to Forest Hills  Central last night at home 5-0. For the first time all year, the team  did not give the effort that they would expect of themselves. Only managing 13 shots for in the game. A tough lesson to learn, but one that they will not repeat. With three games to go in the season and their first playoff game on Monday night it’s full speed ahead and time to continue to get better these last few games of the regular season.  The team hosts Kalamazoo Eagles Friday night on Senior Night.

Eagles Lose: 1 - 4
The hockey team went into Muskegon and battled hard with Mona Shores High School. Fight off a five-minute major in the third. To keep score at 2 to 1. Unfortunately two late goals in the third were too much to overcome as they lost 1-4 to  Mona Shores.  Mona Shores scored a goal in the first, and another early in the second to go up 2-0.  The Eagles scored on a power-play goal shot by Matthew Ydenberg from the blue line. Sam VanSchepen assisted on the goal. Danny Groskiewicz stood in front and made sure the goalie did not see the shot. Noah Herzhaft played well in the net, standing on his head at times stopping 38 of 42 shots.

Eagles Lose: 1 - 5
The Eagles battled hard throughout the game, keeping the game close until the last minute of the game. The first period ended tied at zero. The Eagles killed off a five-minute major in this period. In the second period, Eagles gave up a power-play goal and then another goal 12 seconds later to go down 2 to 0. In the third, the Eagles gave up another power-play goal, but scored with six minutes to go in the game to make the score 3 to 1. Colton Laufer scored off a nice pass from Sam VanSchepen.  With a minute and a half to go the Eagles pulled their goalie for an extra attacker and gave up an open net goal, and then another goal with 40 seconds to go on the game.  Their record is now 0-5-0-1 over-all and 0-4-0-1 in the conference.  The Eagles play Reeth's Puffer this Friday night at Eagles Ice Center at 7:30.  
Varsity Hockey falls to Mona Shores 3-4

Eagles Lose: 3 - 4
The hockey team lost a battle last night at Eagles Ice Center to the Mona Shores Sailors 3-4 in overtime. The teams recognized Brennan Dethloff prior to the start of the game, the Mona Shores Senior who passed away a few weeks ago, by letting the first 22 seconds of the game clock run off the clock to honor Brennan, the same number as his hockey jersey.   The Eagles gave the first goal 11 minutes into the first period. Eagles responded with two goals later in that period to make it a 2-1 lead going into the second period.  Sam VanSchepen scored with an assist from Danny Groskiewicz to get the Eagles on the board with 6 1/2 minutes to go in the first period, VanSchepen scored his second of the game with assists to Jackson Isaacs and Isaiah Clark. Both goals were from VanSchepen going hard and battling in front on rebounds. Mona Shores scored three minutes into the second period to tie the game at two, only to have VanSchepen score his Hattrick 40 seconds later. Ben Baysore assisted on the goal. Mona Shores scored their third goal two minutes later, and the score stay tied headed into overtime. Mona Shores scored with 4 1/2 minutes into overtime to win the game 4 to 3.  The Eagles picked up an important point in the league standings, currently their record is 0-2 overall and 0-2-0-1 in the conference.  The Eagles’ next home game is Friday night versus Kenowa Hills at 6o’clock.
