Boys Varsity Ice Hockey beat Lowell/Caledonia 9=1

Eagles Win: 9 - 1
The hockey team has turned their season around and has won 4 of their last 6 games, and 7 of their last 11.  Most recently beating Lowell Caledonia 9-1 in two periods.  Scoring in the game were Ben Baysore, Colton Laufer and Hayden Zimmerman with 2 goals each.  Isaiah Clark, Dan Graszkiewicz (West Catholic), and Josh Trendt (Cedar Springs) each added a goal.  Matthew Ydenberg led the team with 4 assists,  Clark with 3 assists, ZImmerman and Sam VanSchepen with 2 assists, and Groszkiewicz, Mathew Sweetland, Baysore, Luke Afman, Jake Eaton, Bryce Darrow (West Catholic), and Colin Peal each with one assist.  Brayden Melinn played well in goal to get the win.    The next game is at Patterson Ice Arena on Wednesday night vs East Grand Rapids at 6:30.  The Eagles record now sits at 7-6-1-1 after starting the season 0-3-1

Eagles Lose: 0 - 5
The Eagles Hockey team lost to cross-town rivals 5-0 last Wednesday.  Catholic Central went up 1-0 in a hard-fought 1st period.  Both teams with great chances to score in the first period with the majority of them going to the Eagles.  The score stayed tied into the third period as Logan Sutliff played well in the second period to keep the Eagles in the game.  In the third period Catholic Central rallied for 4 goals sealing the game.
