Eagles Lose: 2 - 5
The Eagles fell to a strong EGR team yesterday at Canepa under the most autumnal conditions the team has played under yet.  6 doubles (BJ Apol, Caleb Nykamp) and 7th doubles (Eli Compagner, Caleb Westhouse) secured wins, 8-6 and 8-1 respectively.  Both teams were short two players so the position of the 8th doubles was not occupied. Our team is preparing for our last match of the season against Hudsonville at home on Thursday. Go Eagles!

Eagles Lose: -
The Eagles went 2-1 in the quad tournament this weekend in Zeeland East.  The team faced Unity Christian for the second time this season, and every doubles team improved on their first result.  Facing an opponent multiple times in a season is a quantitative way to measure improvement, and the team's performance against Unity is concrete evidence of growth! The team dispatched Zeeland East 5-1, and clutched a victory against a competitive Catholic Central team 4-2. Go Eagles!

Eagles Lose: 4 - 4
The Eagles fought for a tie against a strong Forest Hills Central team yesterday. Every match was tight, 1st doubles (Aaron Dormer, Nico Speulstra) and 7th doubles (Gavin Sosnowski, Ben Skillen) lost their first set, but battled back to win the 2nd set and then clutched the tiebreaker to win! At 2nd doubles (Josh VandeGriend, Adam Workman) played three tiebreakers (!) in a fantastically entertaining marathon match with a score of 7-6 (7-5), 6-7 (2-7), 4-10.  3rd doubles (Parker Seth, Luke Gelderloos) and 6th doubles (Caleb Westhouse, BJ Apol) and 9th doubles (Simon Speulstra, Eli Compagner) trounced their opponents in two sets.  4th doubles (Christian Burgess, Conor Ryan), 5th doubles (Alex Amash, Nathan Scheffler), and 8th doubles (Brayden Hawkins, Caleb Nykamp) competed hard and are hungry for a rematch down the road.  Overall, the coaches are extremely pleased with the effort our players displayed, especially after some doubles teams were down after the first set. This was one of the best team performances of the season so far.  Go Eagles!
