Eagles Lose: 3 - 5
The girls suffered their first loss of the season against a very strong team. The majority of losses came from forfeit though. Along with the forfeits, we again didn't have our full team. We were missing our 1 doubles team again. The girls played a very hard fought match and should be very proud of how well they all played. In the 5 actual matches we did play we won 3 of those. We are looking to bounce back and finish on a high note against East!

Eagles Lose: 3 - 3
On Saturday we hosted our first quad! It was a absolutely beautiful day for tennis. Even though we lost 2 of our top players we still ended up winning the tournament!! It was a lot closer than what we anticipated, but not having our true 1 doubles and 2 doubles team made it very hard. We had very little room for error, and could only drop one match against each team we played. The match against TK was our first match of the day and we were a little sluggish due to the cold and first match jitters. We tied 3-3 with TK, but looking into criteria we ended up winning with having the least amount of games lost. After the first match we got back to our normal selves and finished the day in a dominant fashion against Grandville and Parma Western. Going undefeated for us was our 2 doubles, 3 doubles, 4 doubles. Great work to everyone! Overall, it was a really amazing day especially considering the challenges we faced.

Eagles Win: 5 - 1
The girls headed to Byron Center in hopes to keep their perfect season alive! Knowing today would be one the tougher matches we would have in the season, the girls came ready to compete. We played one of our best matches today, and that lead us to a huge win over a very solid Byron Center team. Our 4 doubles played the best and most dominant match of the day with picking up the 6-1, 6-0 win! 3 doubles had a rocky start to the match, but showed a lot of heart on the court and battled back to win a huge match! It was a very impressive week for the girls once again, and everyone is continuing the upward progression trend. A side note for the match was a huge sportsmanship compliment from a Byron Center parent. Abbie Raymond received this specifically, and was said to be a great spirit on the court and the way she held herself out on the court was very classy. Great job Abbie!!

Eagles Win: 5 - 1
The girls started another busy week of matches at home with another dominant win. 1-5 doubles played extremely well and all matches were won in a very dominant fashion. 6 doubles came up just short of completing the sweep, but it was a very close and hard fought match. Our 2 doubles consisting of Edie and Hope had the best match of the day. Everything from serving to ground strokes to volleys were extremely dominant. Overall, I loved seeing the girls play really well together and take the win!!

Eagles Win: 5 - 1
To end the busy week the girls traveled to Holland Christian in hopes to keep the perfect season alive. Once again we took care of busy against a very competitive team. The girls played extremely well with not having any practice this week due to weather and all the matches. Every single girl stayed focused and really competitive throughout the whole week. Overall, it was a great day of tennis and an even better week.
Girls Junior Varsity Tennis vs. Northview High School

Eagles Win: 6 - 2
The JV girls traveled to Northview for their match. We were short one girl this match, so we had some girls step up big. Moving up from 5 doubles to 3 doubles was Jena Momeyer. She played an incredible match and really pulled through for the team! Also, stepping up big was Abbie Raymond. She jumped from 6 doubles to 5 doubles. This was by far the biggest match of the night as they went down in the match, but battled back to win in a tie-breaker!! I saw a lot of heart and will to win come from 6 doubles (Grace Brandt & Abbie Raymond) which was awesome to see! Everyone else won in a dominant fashion. The only two matches we lost was due to forfeit because of our smaller numbers. Overall, a great team win!!
Girls Junior Varsity Tennis vs. Lowell High School

Eagles Win: 6 - 0
The JV girls battled through the cold against Lowell. The whole team played very well once again. Each girl went out and took control for the match early and didn't let up. Our 2 doubles almost had a perfect set besides just 1 point. Everyone did very well and showed an impressive day despite the cold day of tennis. We look to add this to our motivation to keep improving and being on top. Overall, it was a very good day for the girls!!

Eagles Lose: -
On Saturday the JV Tennis team traveled to Rockford for a dual style tournament. The whole team did exceptional. Everyone made huge improvements in just a few days which lead to only 2 losses. Both losses were extremely close and hard fought. There was never a point when the girls gave up. Overall, all the girls swept the first 2 teams we played. The final match we tied the with a very good Rockford team. Each and every one of the girls should be thrilled of with their performance Saturday and this should provide a lot of momentum moving forward.

Eagles Win: 5 - 1
All flights besides 6 doubles came home with a victory. Everyone played a very hard fought match, but our girls were very dominant. Specifically our 4 doubles that consist of Betta Klein and Ella Vandenburg. They played controlled the whole match, and were very dominant at the net. Also having an impressive day was our 2 doubles that consist of Edie VaderLeek and Hope Alvesteffer. They took control of the match early and didn't let off. The team work between the girls was very fun to watch, and the aggressiveness on the court was even better. Overall the whole team played very well and it was a great team win!
Girls Junior Varsity Tennis vs. Unity Christian High School

Eagles Win: 8 - 0
The JV girls tennis had a very dominant performance Monday 3/29. Due to short numbers only three matches were played and the other five were forfeited by Unity. The three matches that were played were all won by GRC in very dominant fashion. Six other matches that were played but not counted. We won 5-6 of those matches, and the one that was dropped was a very hard fought match. Overall, both teams played very well and hard, but the Eagles came out on top!
