The JV Eagles fell short in an intense battle against Forest Hills Central Thursday night. Game one went to the Eagles with a score of 27-25, and games two and three went to FHC with scores of 21-25 and 10-15. Stat leaders for the night were Grace Spoelma with 7 kills and 1 ace, Abbe Diemer with 2 aces, 1 kill and 3 digs, Ella Boorsma with 2 aces, 3 kills and 1 block, Olivia May with 2 blocks, Savannah Bol with 3 kills and 1 block, Hanna Bredeweg with 4 kills and 1 block, and Rachel Larsen with 3 aces and 24 digs. The Eagles will face Lowell on Tuesday at 5pm in the Quest Center for the final match of the tournament and last match of the season. 

The Eagles defeated Northview last night in three sets, winning the first game 25-14, dropping the second 20-25, and winning the third 15-13. Stat leaders for the night were Kidist Nelson, Hope Alvesteffer, and Gabby Richardson each with 2 aces, and Hanna Bredeweg with 5 kills. The Eagles face Forest Hills Central in the semi finals at 5pm tomorrow in the Quest Center.

The JV Eagles dominated again this weekend, beating West Catholic, Montague, and Grand Haven. Savannah Bol lead in stats with 2 kills and 3 blocks vs WC, as well as Grace Spoelma with 3 kills and 4 aces. Scores against West Catholic were 25-12 and 25-16. The Eagles took the Montague game in 3 sets, losing the first 20-25, and winning the second two, 25-11 and 15-12. Gabby Richardson lead the team with 7 aces, followed by Kidist Nelson with 4 aces and 5 kills, and Rachel Larsen with 3 aces. Ella Boorsma lead in kills with 8, as well as 1 block. Grand Haven was an intense match, but the Eagles came out on top, winning 25-23 and 25-20. Kidist Nelson lead the team with 6 kills, Ella Boorsma with 4 kills, and Hanna Bredeweg with 3 kills. Grace Spoelma contributed 4 aces, and Abbe Diemer had 2 kills and 1 block. The JV team will be competing for the Conference Championship starting 10/20 vs Northview at 5pm. The Eagles were undefeated in conference, so they will be hosting the tournament in the Quest Center.

The Eagles took on East Grand Rapids on Tuesday night and dominated in a 2 game victory. The scores for the match were 25-10 in the first game and 25-17 in the second game.  Gabrielle Richardson lead the team in aces with 4. Grace Spoelma has 5 kills, followed by Abbe Diemer with 4. Leading in blocks was Ella Boorsma, who had 2 solo blocks for the night, and Rachel Larsen had 8 digs. This match vs EGR concludes the regular conference season. The JV Eagles went undefeated in conference and will compete as the top seed in the OK White tournament starting next week to claim the title of Conference Champions.  

The JV Eagles fell short this weekend, going 0-2. In a tough battle against Hudsonville, the Eagles lost 23-25 and 22-25. The following match against West Ottawa went to 3 games, with scores of 25-15, 23-25, and 22-25.   The Eagles are still undefeated in conference, and defend that title on Tuesday, in the final home conference match vs East Grand Rapids.

The Junior Varsity team defeated Greenville in two games on Thursday night. The Eagles dominated in game one, winning 25-9. Game two went to the Eagles as well with a score of 25-18. Grace Spoelma and Hope Alvesteffer lead the team with 4 aces each. Hanna Bredeweg, Ella Boorsma, and Grace Spoelma contributed 4 kills apiece, and Savannah Bol lead the team in blocks with 2. The JV team is still undefeated in conference.

The JV Eagles took down Byron Center in a great match at home last night. Scores were 25-18 in the first game and 25-15 in the second game. Grace Spoelma lead the team with 8 kills, Rachel Larsen lead with 5 aces and 11 digs, and Kidist Nelson lead with 12 digs. The JV team is still undefeated in conference, and 14-1 overall. Next conference match is on Thursday at Greenville.  

The JV Eagles hosted a quad on Saturday.  The team battled hard all day, losing to Grandville in 3, beating Jenison in 3, and beating Forest Hills Eastern in 2 games. The JV team plays on Tuesday at home vs Byron Center.

The Eagles Junior Varsity volleyball team beat FHC 2-0 in a tough match on Thursday night. The scores were 25-21 and 25-22. Stat leaders for the night were Grace Spoelma with 3 aces, 8 kills, and 1 block, Ella Boorsma with 2 aces, 7 kills and 15 digs, and Abbe Diemer with 2 blocks.  The Eagles are now 9-0 overall, and 3-0 in conference.  Next game is home, on 10/6, vs Byron Center. 

The JV Eagles won the Hamilton Invitational this weekend. Scores were 25-19 & 25-7 vs South Christian, 25-21 & 25-15 vs Zeeland West, and 25-12 & 25-5 vs Hamilton. Stat leaders: Gabrielle Richardson had 10 aces for the day, Ella Boorsma following behind with 8 aces and 8 kills. Kidist Nelson lead the day with 10 kills, and Savannah Bol had 7 kills. The Eagles take on Forest Hills Central on Thursday, 9/24 at FHC.
