Eagles Lose: 27 - 33
Despite the snow day, the Eagles took on Northview for their last game of the season. Addie Werdon led the Eagles to a quick start in the first, scoring 8 points. Despite the Eagles great defensive efforts, the Wildcats came out with a 33-27 win. Karson VanDenend added 6 more points for the Eagles, followed by Nenfot Darshak with 5.

Eagles Lose: 22 - 25
The Eagles faced NorthPointe Christian at the Quest Center for their last home game of the season. It took awhile to get things rolling for the Eagles, and they trailed 6-15 in the first quarter. The girls started out the second quarter strong with multiple defensive steals by Jaslene McWilliams to trail 15-18 at halftime. Despite the Eagles' best efforts, NorthPointe walked away with a 25-22 win. Addie Werdon led the Eagles with 10 points, and Nenfot Darshak and Eliana Oren followed with 4.

Eagles Lose: 25 - 31
The Eagles took on the Pioneers yet again on Thursday night. Addie Werdon started out strong for the Eagles scoring 9 points in the first quarter. Despite great defensive efforts, the Eagles fell short in the 4th and lost 25-31. Addie Weldon led the Eagles with 11, Karson VanDenend followed with 5, and Tori Scott and Nenfot Darshak chipped in 4.

Eagles Win: 34 - 9
The Eagles faced Forest Hills Northern on Tuesday night. The girls had a great defensive half, holding the Huskies to one point. Ava Leder had a bucket at the end of the first half to help spark the Eagles’ offense, and they went on to win the game 34-9. The Eagles had another great team win led by Karina Mora and Eliana Oren with 6 points, Addie Weldon and Zyia Massey with 5, and Megan Afman with 4.

Eagles Lose: 21 - 42
The freshman girls began the second round of conference games on Thursday. The Eagles came out strong ready to take on the Bulldogs yet again. After a slow start, the Eagles tied the game up 10-10 with some crucial steals. The Bulldogs pulled away in the second half to win 42-21.

The Eagles hosted Catholic Central Tuesday Night. The score was tied at the end of the first, but then the Cougars started to pull away. The Eagles started to chip away in the 4th, but it was too late. Nenfot Darshak led the team with 9 points and Lily Batts followed with 4.

Eagles Win: 34 - 21
The Eagles came out with their best team win of the season with nine girls scoring. The girls dominated the first quarter getting countless steals on the press to lead 11-3. However, Northview fought back in the second quarter to bring the game within five. Tori Scott came out with a crucial bucket in the second half to ignite the Eagles’ offense. Eliana Oren and Addie Werdon led the team with 6, and Nenfot Darshak and Lily Batts chipped in with 5.

The Eagles traveled to Covenant Christian on Tuesday night. The girls started to fight back in the second half but fell short. Karson VanDenend and Addie Werdon lead the Eagles with 6 points, and Nenfot Darshak chipped in 4 more.

The freshman girls basketball beat Lowell on Thursday. Shots were not falling in the first half and the girls led 6-4. Lily Batts hit a 3 pointer to start off the second half strong for the Eagles and finished with 11. Addie Werdon also added 6 to contribute to the 25-14 win.

Eagles Lose: 25 - 28
The freshman girls basketball team fought hard but came up short in overtime against NorthPointe Christian. The girls trailed in the first half 9-16 but came back fighting in the the second half. Eliana Oren hit a shot in the last minute to tie up the game 25-25 and send it into overtime. Shots were not falling for the Eagles in the extra four minutes and NorthPointe came out with a 28-25 win.
Girls Freshman Basketball Tops East Grand Rapids in Final Minute

Eagles Win: 17 - 15
The Eagles fought a defensive battle on Thursday night, but came up on top thanks to never hanging their heads and coming back in the 4th! After a slow offensive start for both teams, the Eagles found themselves trailing East for most of the game. However, when crunch time came the girls locked in and found each other in transition for some big baskets. Making the go ahead basket to put them in a place to win was Lily Batts. Top scorers were Karson Vandenend and Addie Werdon. It was a hard fought victory and the Eagles are ready to come back and do it again Tuesday night.
Girls Freshman Basketball Wins Big Against Forest Hills Northern

Eagles Win: 38 - 7
The Eagles won big Tuesday night in their home debut. The girls fought hard from the start absolutely dominating possession starting with a huge 3 from Sedonia Louise. Then Eliana Oren took note and started putting away big shots in the second quarter ending as the game%u2019s leading scorer with 8. It was a well distributed scoring column with Zyia Massey, Nenfot Darshak, and Addie Werdon all scoring 6 each. The Eagles get to return to competition again Thursday night at EGR.
Girls Freshman Basketball Loses to Byron Center

Eagles Lose: 13 - 42
The Eagles added some competition to their winter lull on Thursday night at Byron Center. Despite a strong effort against a talented team they came up short. Lilly Batts and Nenfot Darshak were able to rally the girls down the stretch as the two leading scorers. The girls will be back Tuesday night at home against Forest Hills Northern.

The Freshmen Eagles fought a very strong Rockford team Wednesday morning and struggled to keep up. The Rams were aggressive from the start and the Eagles found themselves in a hole. They were able to claw back here and there and even beat the Rams 9-3 in the 4th quarter but were a little too far gone. Lily Batts and Addie Werdon were the leaders on offense while Zyia Massey, Megan Afman and Nenfot Darshak added huge stops on defense. The girls will be back after break with some conference play!
Girls Freshman Basketball Wins At the Buzzer Vs. West Catholic

Eagles Win: 29 - 27
The freshmen Eagles had the game of their lives Monday night with a strong fight to the end and a buzzer beater game winner! The Eagles found themselves evenly matched with the West Catholic squad, but stayed confident and collected and kept putting up good shots and getting stops on defense. Nenfot Oarsmail and Zyia Massey were tenacious on defense to get Lily Batts and Jaslene McWilliams great looks on offense. Addie Werdon added a competitive intensity that kept the Eagles in the game. With 10 seconds left in the 4th, the Eagles found themselves down 1 and without an ounce of panic they managed to get the ball in to Lily Batts who hit Jaslene McWilliams for a three pointer to win and she made it count. The crowd went wild and the Eagles had the most exciting start to their Cornerstone tournament. They%u2019ll be back Wednesday at 11:30 against Rockford.

The Eagles edged out Ottawa Hills in a close fought battle Friday night. The girls locked down on defense with Addie Werdon getting crucial steals to spark the offense. Lily Batts lead the team with 13 points and Sidonia Louise added 8 more. The Eagles will return next week in The Cornerstone Tournament.

Eagles Lose: 13 - 31
The freshmen Eagles came out more prepared Monday night against a strong Sailor team. Addie Werdon lit the spark for the Eagles on offense and got the bench all riled up with a big 3 pointer in the first. Eliana Oren, Nenfot Darshak, and Lily Batts added big pressure on defense forcing turnovers, but the girls came up short on offense. They continue to improve and look forward to heading into conference play.

The freshmen Eagles started their season against a very talented Crusader team Thursday night. The girls remained positive in a tough game and they are eager to get another contest soon. Baskets were added by Tori Scott, Audrey Brouwer, and Zyia Massey.
