Girls Varsity Bowling compete in Division 2, Regional Tournament

Our Grand Rapids Christian Eagles Girl’s Bowling Team competed in Division 2, Region 9, Tournament in Kalamazoo on Saturday.  The Girls met up with several tough teams in this tournament with one competitor shooting a 920 series with a 230 game average.  They gave it their all with Ella showing the way early, shooting some of the best games of her season.  Cate shot a great 209 in the second game to help boost the Girls to their best game of 802.  Ruth pushed them through to the end with solid 174.  Great job wrapping up the season, Girls!

Eagles Win: 18 - 12
In the final regular season match the Grand Rapids Christian Girls bowling team started out in a good spot by taking one of the Baker Games and Baker total pins.  A strong first regular game led by Ruth Diepstra shooting a nice 180, the girls extended their lead by another 5 points.  Our Eagles Girls never looked back taking three of the points in the second regular game and over all total to win the match 18 - 12 over the Lowell Red Arrows.  Great team effort, nice job Girls.

Eagles Lose: 12 - 18
The Eagles Girls Bowling Team met up once again with a strong Northview Wildcats Team.  Our Eagles Girls split the baker games and dropping the baker total by only 19 pins.  Our Eagles rallied in the first regular game by taking 7 of the 9 points withCate Meyer, Megan Szotko, and Ruth Diepstra each taking their points and pushing the team over to take total pins.  The Wildcats came back strong in the second regular game to take the match.  Great effort girls.

Eagles Win: 30 - 0
Despite the Forest Hills Girls arriving down two bowlers today, the Grand Rapids Christian Girls used the opportunity to get accustomed to post season tournament conditions.  The girls jumped into Bakers shooting solid 145, 146, and 291 total.  The regular games followed with some sharp shooting by all girls.  Some games of note Ella Koetje (147), Cate Meyer (157, 179), Ruth Diepstra (165), Abigail Afman (160).  Nice shooting Girls and very nice series Cate.

Eagles Lose: 11 - 19
The Eagles Girls bowling started strong against a competitive Bulldogs Girls team by taking the first baker game.  The Bulldogs rallied and took the second baker game by 8 pins and baker total by only 3 pins.  The Bulldogs continued their rally by sweeping the first regular game in a very close contest.  Our Eagles mounted their own rally in the second regular game by taking 7 of the 9 points.  This rally was led by Abigail Afman shooting a great 214.  The Eagles fell short dropping the match 11-18.  Nice job Girls.

Eagles Win: 16 - 14
Grand Rapids Christian Girls Bowling had a solid match winning over Greenville HS.  The Eagles won 16 -14. The Girls all shot well with a couple notable scores by Ruth Diepstra (173) adn Ell Koetje (156).  Great team win girls.

Our Eagles Girls went toe to toe with a strong Huskies team.  The match went right down to the wire with a tie 15 - 15. Great determination Girls, keep up the great work.

Eagles Lose: 14 - 16
The Grand Rapids Christian Eagles Girls Bowling jumped to a quick lead over the East Grand Rapids Pioneer Girls in the Baker Games.  Their girls came back strong during the regular and the girls battled to the end.  Our Eagles girls end up coming up 17 pins short in total pins to the Pioneers.  The Pioneers ousted the Eagles 16 -14.

Grand Rapids Christian Eagles met up with our friends at Unity Christian.  Our Eagles Girls jumped into the lead during the baker games taking 6 of ten points. The Crusader Girls rallied back to take the match during regular games 8.5 - 21.5

The Eagles Girls bowling met up with a very strong Red Arrows Girls team.  The Lowell Girls established a strong start in the Baker Games and never looked back.  Ruth Diepstra snuck out the one point in a 1-29 loss.

The Grand Rapid Christian Eagles Girls Bowling met up with a confident Northview Wildcats Gilrs team.  Despite close play between the teams, the Wildcats just bested our Eagles 2-28.  The score appears very slighted where our girls really on missed many points by a mere few pins per bowler.   Lets get them next time girls!

The Grand Rapids Christian Eagles Girls Bowling scored a solid win over the Forest Hills Central Rangers.  Some nice bowling lead by Megan Szotko (152), Ruth Diepstra (168), and Abigale Afman (166), the girls secured a nice win.

Eagles Lose: 7 - 23
The Grand Rapids Christian Eagles boys and girls varsity bowling teams met up with very strong Byron Center High School teams.  Both of the Eagles teams started out going shot for shot against the Bulldogs.  Despite strong games by Abigail Afman (191, 190) and Cate Meyer (154), the Byron Center Girls were able to top our Eagles Girls team.

The Eagles Girls both had difficulty hitting their stride in the match vs. a strong Greenville bowling team.  The Eagles girls struggled converting their spares in this match leading to a loss to the Greenville Jackets.  Cate Meyer shot a solid 143 scoring the single point.  Nice Game Cate.

The Grand Rapids Christian Eagles Girls Bowling Team met up with a very strong Forest Hills Northern team.  Even though the score indicates a lopsided win for the Huskys, our Ealges Girls were duking it out with their team.  A great deal of the games were only lost by a mear few pins.  Good job girls.

Eagles Win: 28 - 2
The Girls jumped to a quick lead by sweeping the East Grand Rapids Pioneers in the Baker Games taking a 10-0 lead.  Ruth Diepstra led the way shooting a nice 195 taking 7 more points during the first regular game.  Abigail Afman stepped it up in the second shooting a 188 to lead to a sweep of points in the second game.  The Girls started the season with a strong with a 28-2 win.  Way to go Girls!
