We recently celebrated our boys basketball seniors, honoring them, and thanking them for the years they have been part of Eagle Basketball at Grand Rapids Christian. Each of these young men has represented Grand Rapids Christian well not only on the basketball court but in the community, in other Eagle athletics, and around our school hallways.

Tyler would like to first thank his parents for always coming to the games and supporting him. Tyler is a two-year varsity basketball player. His favorite memory from the season was beating South Christian and Catholic Central. Tyler would like to thank his coaches and teammates as well for a good 4 years and many good times and friendships made along the way. Next year, Tyler plans on attending Central Michigan University to play football and study exercise science. Tyler’s favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11 “’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”

Dono’ would love to thank his coaches for a successful 4 years of high school basketball and the memories that come along with it. Dono’ is still undecided on where to go for college but plans on playing basketball in college. His favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 40:31 “They who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength they shall mount up with wings like eagles they shall run and not be weary they shall walk and not faint.”

Quinton is a two-year varsity basketball player. His favorite memory from this season was spending Winterim with the team and getting to know them better. Quinton would like to thank his coaches and teammates for always pushing him to be his best and for all the great memories they have shared together. Next year, Quinton plans on attending Calvin University and playing basketball there. Quinton’s favorite Bible verse is Deuteronomy 31:6, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Coach Eric Taylor has this special message for his senior players: We want to thank these young men for their dedication and commitment to the basketball program. This is an important time to honor these young men who have been an integral part of our program. Grand Rapids Christian basketball continues to be successful because of young men like these three senior student athletes. We've celebrated victories, and endured losses, forging a bond unlike any other. We've learned valuable lessons that have prepared us for life beyond basketball. Most importantly, we’ve learned to persevere through challenges and setbacks while giving glory to God in all that we do. In the end, there’s only one thing left to say: Thank you, seniors, and thank you to the parents for your support of your players and the team. Go Eagles!
