Celebrating Girls Lacrosse Seniors!

#1 Elizabeth Mehney
Parents: Samantha and Bill Mehney
Elizabeth has been playing lacrosse for 12 years. Her favorite lacrosse memory is when they were putting their hands in hot chocolate on the sideline during a game because they were so cold. Elizabeth plans to attend Palm Beach Atlantic University to study biology.
Her favorite Bible verse is John 6:67-68. “So Jesus said to the twelve, “You do not want to go away also, do you?” Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life.”
#3 Adia Sikkema
Parents: Sue and Scott Sikkema
Adia has been playing lacrosse for 6 years. Her favorite lacrosse memory is when Halle made the buzzer beater against Caledonia her freshman year. Adia plans to attend Calvin University, studying entrepreneurship and ministry.
Her favorite Bible verse is 2 Thessalonians 3:16. “May the Lord of peace himself, give you peace at all times and in every way.”
#6 Merehn Oosterman
Parents: Courtenay and Doug Oosterman
Rehn has been playing lacrosse for 9 years. Her favorite lacrosse memory is scoring a buzzer beater against Hudsonville her sophomore year. Her favorite Bible verse is Rehn plans to attend Michigan State University, studying environmental biology and psychology.
Romans 12:10-12. “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
#10 Maddie Christians
Parents: Shelly and John Christians.
Maddie has been playing lacrosse for 10 years. Her favorite lacrosse memory is all the new relationships she’s built over the years. Maddie plans to study environmental science at an undecided university.
Her favorite Bible verse is John 3:16. “For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
#11 Annelle Dykema
Parents: Rachel and Greg Dykema.
Annelle has been playing lacrosse for 10 years. Her favorite lacrosse memory is playing with her teammates for so many years and building relationships with them. She also loves the singing that goes on before and during practice and games. Annelle plans to attend Saginaw Valley State University to study social work and play lacrosse.
Her favorite Bible verse is 1 Peter 4:10-11. “Each of you should use whatever gifts you have received to serve others as faithful stewards of God in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.”
#12 Maggie Doyle
Parents: Shawn and Doug Doyle
Maggie has been playing lacrosse for 8 years. Her favorite lacrosse memory is the Sprite challenge after practice and driving with Leah Stransky. Maggie plans to attend Belmont Abbey College to study education and play lacrosse.
Her favorite Bible verse is John 13:7. “Jesus replied, ‘You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”
#13 Halle Couch
Parents: Jennifer and Garret Couch
Halle has been playing lacrosse for 11 years. Her favorite lacrosse memory is playing on the same team as her sister for 2 years. Halle plans to attend Grand Valley State University to study health science on the pre PA track and play ice hockey.
Her favorite Bible verse is 1 Peter 5:7. “Cast all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you.”
#20 Emma Visser
Parents: Sarah and Matt Visser
Emma has been playing lacrosse for 5 years. Her favorite lacrosse memory is playing with the team and lax sisters her sophomore year. Emma plans to attend Abilene Christian University to study nursing.
Her favorite Bible verse is Deuteronomy 31:6. “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”
#23 Maddie Burgess
Parents: Tracy and Eric Burgess
Maddie has been playing lacrosse off and on since 4th grade and started up again her junior year. Her favorite lacrosse memory is when everyone had to sleep on Coach Julie’s floor before a tournament in middle school. Maddie is planning to take a gap year to do mission work.
Her favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11. “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”
#25/32 Katherine Hoeksema
Parents: Chris and Marc Hoeksema
Katie has been playing lacrosse for 9 years. Her favorite lacrosse memory is getting milkshakes after practice. Katie plans to attend Michigan Technological University to study mechanical engineering.
Her favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13. “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”

Parents Heather Francis-De Young and Galen De Young
Elise has been playing lacrosse for 10 years. Elise plans to attend the University of Michigan Flint to study occupational therapy.
Her favorite lacrosse memory is being able to play the game that she loves with her second family since 2nd grade and reaching her goal of blocking a shot with her head in 6th grade. Her favorite Bible verse is 1 Corinthians 16:14. “Do everything in love.”
