John Cassiday

Parents: Angela Honeycutt-Tate and Chad Cassiday

John is a two-year varsity basketball player. He played 4 years of varsity soccer and plans to play his 4th year of varsity golf in the spring. John would like to thank his coaches and his parents for all of the support and time they have poured into him to be a better player and a better man in Christ. He also wants to thank all of his teammates for the memories they made together. John’s favorite basketball memory was the Regional final win last year vs Benton Harbor. John will be attending Hillsdale College next year to play golf and study financial management with a minor in entrepreneurship. 

 

John’s favorite verse is Joshua 1:9

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

 

Tyler Davis

Parents Tyrone and Juanita Davis 

Tyler is a three-year varsity basketball player. He played football in the fall of this year and plans to run track for the Eagles this spring. Tyler would like to thank his parents and coaches for always pushing him to believe in himself and never settle. He also thanks his teammates for the relationships he’s made as a (lifetime) Eagle. Tyler’s favorite basketball memory is earlier this season when the team beat South Christian at South. Tyler is undecided about which college he will attend next year but plans to major in Broadcasting. 

 

Tyler’s favorite verse is Isaiah 54:17

“no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the Lord.

 

Aaron Gholston:

Parents Myesha Melvin-Gholston and Willie Gholston II 

Aaron is a two-year varsity basketball player and will be running track for a fourth year on varsity for the Eagles this spring. Aaron also was a three-year varsity football player for Eagles. Aaron would like to thank Coach ET and Coach Mike for believing in him this year and encouraging him to compete and trust the process. He is grateful for the support of his parents and village. Aaron also thanks his teammates for the relationships he has made over the last four years as an Eagle. His favorite basketball memory is the Winterim trip to Florida. Aaron is undecided about which college he will attend next year but plans to study Communications.

 

Aaron’s favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Ador Mawut

Parents Ajah Aguer and Paul Mawut

Ador is a three-year varsity basketball player and plans to play varsity baseball for the Eagles this spring. Ador would like to thank his parents for always believing in him and he thanks his coaches for allowing him to do what he loves. His favorite basketball memory is traveling to Orlando with the team last year for Winterm. Ador is undecided about where to attend college next year but plans to study computer science.

 

Ador’s favorite verse is Mark 9:23 

“‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”


Jacob Rodenhouse
Parents Amber and Dan Rodenhouse
Jacob is a one-year varsity player who played football in the fall and will be running track in the spring. Jacob would like to thank his parents and coaches for encouraging him to go out for basketball again and he is thankful to be part of a great basketball team. His favorite memory of basketball was his freshman year when they went 18-2. Jacob is undecided about his college major but will most likely attend GRCC to further pursue a career.

Jacob's Favorite Bible verse is Romans 8:28

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

 

Nasir Zimmerman

Parent: Laila McCloud

Nasir is a one-year varsity basketball player and will be running track for the Eagles this spring. Nasir would like to thank his mom for being his number one fan. Nasir’s favorite basketball memory is when the team went to Cedar Point. Nasir is undecided about which college he will attend next year but plans to study Computer Science.

 

Nasir’s favorite verse is Isaiah 41:10

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

 

Thank you, seniors, for your contributions to the Eagle basketball program, and thank you, parents, for your support of your athletes and their coaches. Seniors, we wish you God’s richest blessings in the rest of your high school careers and in your futures as athletes, students, and members of your communities.
