Our girls tennis team honored Senior Kaitlyn Schmitt! Captains Avah, Emily, and Anna shared heartfelt words reflecting on Kaitlyn’s lasting impact over the past four years. Known for her fierce forehand and unwavering work ethic, Kaitlyn has been a cornerstone of the team both on and off the court. Her leadership, dedication, and sportsmanship have left a legacy at GRC. We are proud to announce that Kaitlyn will be continuing her tennis journey at Spring Arbor University. We wish her all the best in this exciting next chapter!
Here's what her teammates had to say about her:
Avah:
Dear Kaitlyn, I have really loved getting to know you as well as playing beside you these past 3 years. From getting to know you I have learned that you are an amazing person inside and out. You are encouraging to everyone around you and you never fail to be kind. We all know that when we hear some self talk on the tennis court that it is game time and you mean business. Kaitlyn, you have been a role model to me. The way that you handle being under pressure and show mental toughness is next level. From watching you play I know that I want to be able to do what you do on the court which is to play extraordinary well, have strong mental toughness, and to have courage. On and off the court Kaitlyn shines in whatever she does whether that is horse riding, listening to country music, playing with Sparkle, using her sign language skills, or playing tennis. Needless to say you are a huge part of the team and we will miss you so much. Kaitlyn I am going to miss you! I am going to miss seeing your smiling face in between our tennis lessons, at practice, and at school. Thank you for having huge, positive impact on the tennis team and on myself. We love and wish you the best of luck during your college journey.
Emily:
Kaitlyn – you are a rock for this team. We all know how much hard work you put in for this sport and just know it has more than paid off because you are a phenomenal tennis player. But more importantly, you are a fantastic teammate. You are always a light at practice and it was so much fun to be in the same room as you last year at states. I think I can speak for all of us when I say we are all going to miss you. Spring Arbor is going to have so much talent. Congrats, we love you.
Anna:
Kaitlyn, our one and only senior – you have always been an inspiring tennis player ever since I joined the team, sophomore year. You are always able to put a smile on all of our faces. Even when you are locked in during your match, I can hear you cheering us on from the court over. You bring so much joy to this team, and we are all going to miss you when you leave, and we all hope you can take your joy to Spring Arbor University.
