Keira Porte

Keira has been on the GRC varsity softball team for 4 years and has played softball for a total of 8 years. Keria’s favorite memory from her 4 years is being able to play the same position with Megan H freshman year. She would like to thank her parents, oma and opa for coming to all her games . Keira plans to attend Hope University and is majoring in elementary and special education. 

Keira's favorite Bible verse is Ephesians 4:32 - Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Ellie VandeGriend

Parents: Becca and Andy VandeGriend

Ellie has been on the GRC varsity softball team for 4 years and has played softball since she was 4 years old. Ellie's favorite memory from her 4 years is panda practice her freshman year. She would like to thank her parents first and foremost for providing her with the ability to play softball and drive her to every game and practice before she could herself. She would like to thank all of her coaches, especially coach VanTimmeren for helping her grow not only as a player but as a person. Next she would like to thank her teammates for making softball so so much more fun to play. And lastly she gives a special thanks to her nana and papa B for instilling the love that she has for softball in her when she was little. Ellie plans to attend Calvin University and is majoring in Nursing. 

Ellie's favorite Bible verse is Psalms 23:4 "Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me."

Ellie and Keira have been coming to my camps since they were in 5th grade — it’s crazy to think they’re now seniors and graduating in just a week! It’s been such a joy coaching them and watching their growth over the years — not only as softball players but as individuals. I’m so proud of the young women they’ve become, and I know God has an amazing plan for their lives!
